Mechanical pre-treatment

Mechanical treatments such as sanding, sandblasting, or brushing effectively remove surface impurities such as rust, oxides, oils, greases, and other contaminants that could reduce paint adhesion. It creates a rough surface that increases the surface area for paint adhesion. The roughness allows for better mechanical adhesion of the paint to the metal surface, which reduces the possibility of peeling off or falling off the paint. It is also suitable for removing old layers of paint or coatings, which allows better adhesion of the new coating and ensures even application. Mechanically treated surfaces are better prepared to receive primers that improve the adhesion of finishing paint coatings. This is especially important in multi-layer paint systems.
